    3. Researchers, My husband's grandmother was Sarah Jane CROWLEY Sides from Limestone County, Alabama. She was married to Ossie Otto Sides in 1919. Sarah Jane was the daughter of William Crowley/Croley and Rosa DAVIS Crowley. They had four children that I am aware of: Sarah Jane CROWLEY Sides; Ida Bell CROWLEY Haggard married to Henry Haggard from Coffee County, TN; John Collins Crowley and Richard Pryor Crowley. Rosa DAVIS died in February of 1941 in Limestone County, Alabama. Rosa was the daughter of Catherine GRAHAM and William Edward N. Davis. William Davis was the son of Gabriel Davis and Mary McLemore from Lauderdale County, Alabama. Rosa and William were married in 1897 in Limestone County, Alabama. I just received a death certificate for a William Crowley/Croley that died in June of 1950 in Limestone County, Alabama. William was a widower, born in March of 1878. The informant for William was John C. Crowley. It states that William was the son of John Crowley. Mom's name is not listed and William was born in Tennessee. I believe that William could possibly be the son of John W. Crowley and Sarah Jane LARGEN. They are the only Crowley family close to Limestone County, AL and/or Lincoln County, TN. I have found a Willie Croley that was in the home of H. Milton Largen in Lincoln County, TN in 1880. John and Sarah Crowley are in 1870 Lincoln County, TN list as John Crawley. There are some children listed. I believe that possibly John and Sarah have passed away by 1880 as I can not find them and their children are placed with the Largen family. John and Sarah were married in Madison County, Alabama in 1860 as was Samuel N. Crowley and Amanda Largen in 1860. John and Samuel are the sons of Henry Crowley and an Elizabeth. I believe Elizabeth's name to possibly be McClusky. I have found on the Madison County, AL website a Henn Croly that was married in 1836 to an Elizabeth McClusky. If you can offer any suggestions to some of my ideas or help support my beliefs or disprove them, please don't hesitate to ask. You can send replies to me at rootsnut@yahoo.com. Sincerely, Carrie S.
