This relates to the on-going discussion on the Bedford Co. list... My 3xgreat grandfather, Thomas Keeling, and his wife, Mary E., left Garrison Fork Baptist church by transfer on letter to "Double Springs" church in 1824. In checking around, the only local Double Springs area I've found is the one east of Murfreesboro. Can anyone better inform me about this? Was there a Baptist church in this area of Double Springs, Rutherford Co.? Are there other areas of Middle TN that used to be known as "Double Springs" but are now called something else, where this church might have been? I have used the USGS GNIS site, and have located other places outside of TN that have such names and had churches, but I am not satisfied yet that my 3x great grandfather went out of state to transfer his letter...
