I would like to know if anyone else on the list has relatives who moved to Arkansas in the 1830-1840 time. My great great grandfather Handy DeShields came to Marion County Arkansas on their way to Oregon. In talking to Mr Jacobs of Beech Grove this summer he said that was quite common. Does anyone else have this migration pattern? Marion County Arkansas is in the Yellville, Arkansas area. In 1869 Boone County took a portion of Marion, Carroll and Baxter Counties. Handy stayed in what became Boone.
