If someone has the 1830 census, I'd love to know where John A. Bates was in 1830. In 1820, he was in Greene County, GA. But by 1850 he is in Coffee County, TN. Goodspeed says that one of his sons was born in Bedford County, TN in 1829. I do not know if John A. Bates was ever enumerated as being in Rutherford County, TN or not.
