    3. I am researching my JONESes and MONTGOMERYs, BATES and DAVISes. Any information you can add will help me. I am trying to connect my Laura Ann JONES (age 19 in 1850 Murray Co. TN census; b. in GA) with candidate parent Ann K. JONES (age 50 in 1850 Murray Co. TN census; b. in NC). No father is listed in the household. Ann K. JONES is living between 22-year-old John DAVIS and Hiram MONTGOMERY in the 1850 Murray Co. GA census. My John A. BATES (b. 1794 in VA; d. 1868 in Coffee Co. TN) married Elizabeth DAVIS (b. 1796 in SC; d. 1869) in 1824. John and son Jasper are listed in the 1850 Coffee Co. TN census as millers. There was a flour and grist mill owned by Sims, Davis & Hildebrand in the 5th district. In 1889, Goodspeed BIOGRAPHIES AND MEMOIRS OF NORTHEASTERN ARKANSAS said that Alethia BATES (deceased daughter of John A. BATES) had been the wife of J. S. Jones and that Frances A. BATES who lived in TN was the widow of J. Hickerson. "In 1887, The Goodspeed History of Coffee County said that "During the year 1809 Joseph Hickerson ... came to the county ... from North Carolina and ... settled on Duck River, two miles southwest from Manchester, in the Sixth District." Goodspeed mentions several JONESes and HICKERSONs and one William Montgomery. Other mills in the area are owned by T. E. Jones -- grist and saw-mill at Hillsboro L. D. Hickerson (Jr.) -- saw-mill on Haggard's branch
