    1. [TNCOFFEE] RUBLY/HARRISON/SARTAIN
    2. KHarrison
    3. Hello to All, I'm hoping SKS can help me find out ANY information about my Grandmother..or her family. My Grandmother's name was Lena RUBLY. That is about all my family knows about her. She was my Father's mother. My Father, Earl Frederick HARRISON and his twin sister, Pearl HARRISON, were born to Lena RUBLY and Harvey Lee HARRISON IN 1919....I believe near Sewanne They were raised only by their Father, Harvey Lee HARRISON near Coalmont. No one seems to know what happened to their Mother, Lena RUBLY after their birth. Family tradition is that she did NOT die...but what became of her and her story, we have been forever curious. Just recently, I learned of the following marriage record: Lena Rubly & Frank Sartain married June 23, 1906..I believe this was in Grundy Co., marriage book 21 E p10 Now I am truly confused! I can find no marriage record for Lena Rubly to Harvey Lee Harrison. Might someone out there with access to records check this for me? This has really turned into a puzzle for our family and a desire to learn more about our Grandmother and her family. ANY help would be soooo greatly appreciated! We know much info on our other ancestors of Harvey Lee Harrison from Franklin, Grundy and Coffee Cos.,.... the HARRISONS, SMITHS, GIPSONS, HILLS. .some of the pioneer families of the area. But of course we are always looking for more! And of course very willing to share info too! Thanks so much. Best Regards, Kathy Harrsion harris@livingonline.com When this you see, remember me

    2. Hi, I was wondering if there was anyone in our list who has any cemetery index books for Coffee Co. If so, would you be able to look up two people to see if they're buried in Coffee Co.? I believe they may have died as infants or children--less than 10 years old. Here is the little info I have on them: David Snipes - b. 1856 (parents John W. Snipes and Permelia Crisp Snipes) Benjamin Snipes - b. 1868 (same parents as above) Lori Houston, TX

    1. [TNCOFFEE] CHESTNUT RIDGE COUSINS REUNION
    2. Prosser Genealogy - Comcast
    3. Coffee County List Members: Some of you may have had some ancestors from "The Ridge" area. We welcome you to join us. The second annual Chestnut Ridge Cousins reunion will be held Friday and Saturday October 3 - 4, 2003, in Petersburg and Fayetteville, TN. The reunion will begin on Friday afternoon at an informal social gathering at Pavilion Park at Morgan School in Petersburg, with a pot-luck picnic supper at 5:30. On Saturday morning, the group will meet at First United Methodist Church in Fayetteville from 9:30 - 12 noon. The program will include a talk on local genealogical research sources by Jack Towry, president of the Lincoln County Genealogical Society, and an account of several of the interrelated families of the Chestnut Ridge area by Al Simmons, president of the Bedford County Historical Society. The afternoon will be free for individual research. At the Saturday night banquet, Dr. Michael Bradley, author of books about the War Between the States and other historical subjects, will tell true stories of the war in the Fayetteville-Lynchburg area. Dr. Bradley, professor of social sciences at Motlow State Community College, is well known for his entertaining story-telling about real people and real events. The banquet will begin at 6:00 p. m. at the Best Western Fayetteville Inn. Reservations are required. Last year's initial meeting of the Chestnut Ridge Cousins association in Shelbyville drew nearly 150 cousins from 11 states. The organization, open to everyone, especially welcomes descendants of the pioneer families who settled in the early 1800s in the hills and the hollows where Lincoln, Bedford, Marshall and Moore counties come together. Goals of the group include surname research; sharing of the family facts, stories, and photographs; and preservation and restoration of family cemeteries that are in disrepair or have been abandoned. For information about becoming a member or for a registration form for the 2003 reunion, please go to www.chestnutridgecousins.org. We hope to see you in October.
