    1. RE: [TNCOFFEE] Update on Heritage book?
    2. Sherryl Roberts
    3. Since you've asked, the answer is.......The Coffee County Heritage Book is now being readied for the publisher and the book should be out by late fall, 2004. The committee is currently working feverishly to get the articles (more than six file boxes full) ready to send to the publisher! Although we are no longer accepting family articles, we will still be accepting orders for books for a few weeks at pre-pub prices. Only a limited number of books will be printed and to be guaranteed a copy, we must have your order before we print them. If you need to print an order form you may do so at: http://www.coffeecountyheritage.homestead.com/ Many thanks to everyone who submitted information for the book. 1. [TNCOFFEE] Political Division Maps
    2. Carole Hays
    3. Hi, Jess and Listers, Does anyone know of a website that has TN county political division maps? I'm not sure I'm using the correct label for such a map. I would like to find out, for example, exactly what area is covered by "Jones 3rd District" in the US Census of 1850 of Bedford Co., TN, or by "Fall Creek" or "Milton" subdivision/district in the US Census of 1850 of Rutherford Co., TN. 1. [TNCOFFEE] Elijah and Samuel Fletcher: Sons of A. J. Fletcher: around 1880: CCT
    2. Jackie Johnston
    3. I am looking for information on the sons and parentage of these two boys. Elijah was born around 1879 in Coffee County. His name shows up in the 1880 Coffee County TN Census along with his parents A. J. and Sallie E. (possibly EARP) Fletcher. Samuel may have been born after 1880. Any information would be appreciated. Spelling of names may vary. Thanks in advance. Jackie --- [This E-mail scanned for viruses at TNWEB LLC]

    3. Yep.... I'm a grandpa again.... let's see now... (think, think)... That would be 5 of 'em now. I'm running away from home, at least for a while. I was going to go off to an island just off the coast of Antarctica, but due to transportation problems, getting across the Drake Passage and to the actual island, that got postponed for a year or so. So, I signed up with another group going to Banaba Island, in April. What !! You never heard of Banaba Island ?? Well, don't feel to badly, neither have most people. It's just south of the equator and maybe 500 or so miles from Fiji. The website is at. http://www.dx-pedition.de/banaba2004/index.html click on "team" and you will eventually find me. Maybe some peace & quiet. Jess

    3. Carole, I'm not sure If you are on it or not, but the Bedford County list had a long discussion about Thompsons in the last few weeks. You might want to search the list archives for Bedford and see if you find it there. I'm not a list manager so I'm not sure how long it is before messages are added to the archive, but it won't hur to look. 3. Hi, Jess, Yes, the messages can still get through, but we've just not been sending them. I'm posting mine once again, hoping that someone connected to my family has joined us since Christmas. Benjamin Franklin Church (b. TN ca 1828) married Mary Caroline Thompson (b. TN ca 1830) in 1848 in Cannon Co., TN. They and their baby son, John Marion, were in the Census of 1850 in Rutherford Co., TN. By 1860 the family was living in Coffee Co., TN., including more sons: William Isaac (b. 1852), James F.T. (who later went by Thomas F. - b. 1856), and Franklin (b. 1860). The family, minus Benjamin Franklin (according to family stories, he was killed in a battle near home late in the Civil War), were still in Coffee Co., TN, in 1870, including a son, Calvin (b. 1862). Later (1878) Mary married B.A. Burks, and in 1894 she married David L. Prince. I really need to connect with someone who knows the parents and/or siblings of Franklin Church (the elder one) and/or Mary Caroline Thompson. Thanks! Carole Hays Hodge, Louisiana

    1. [TNCOFFEE] Marriage of Ella May Manire and DeWitt C, Talbot
    2. robert kemper
    3. Ella was the daughter of Dr Amasa Manire who made tullahoma his home in 1897 and practiced medicine there. In the 1900 Ella was living at home with Dr Manire but was married by the time he applied for his confederate pension in Nov 1904. I cannot not find a record for this marriage . I feel that since she lived in Coffee she might have married there. As I found out the archives of coffee co are not in much in order and i have looked in the archives in the State archives but cannot find it. I have also explored Bedford Co since she grew up there and Rutherford since sometimes the counties overlapped I also have looked in the Davidson co since DeWitt lived in Nashville so did she after her marriage I thought that maybe some one with access to newspaper announcements in Tullahoma maybe could find a notice of some kind . Or from any source. Thank you Pat Kemper granddaughter of Ella May Manire Talbot Email Rkemper1@bellsouth.net.
