PRESS RELEASE-- "Kids Can Find Kin at ETHS History Camp" The East Tennessee Historical Society's (ETHS) annual summer history camp is helping kids age 9-14 find thier kin. The day camp, to be held July 7-10, offers children in the fourth through eighth grades hands-on experience in tracing their family tree. With assistance from ETHS staff and staff from the Knox County Public Library System, the children will receive unique access to the East Tennessee Historical Society Museum, the Knox County Archives, and the McClung Historical Collection. Camp activities include museum tours, gravestone rubbings, first-hand instruction from genealogy experts and introductions to internet research. Camp will be held from 9 am to 12:30 pm each day at the ETHS downtown Knoxville headquarters (600 Market Street, in the old Custom House). Deadline for registration is June 30, 1998.
