It appears from the reading that the settlers were removed from their homes at least for a temporary time in the early part of 1798. This is not evident in the Grainger County Court minutes, however, from the letter of John Sevier it either happened, or he was made to think it happened. Any comments about the letter where he addresses it to the People of Powell Valley lately removed from their lands. Steve
