    3. Kenneth Edward Sutton Oct. 2, 1926,Sept. 2, 2004 Services have been set for Kenneth Edward Sutton, 77, of Monroe, who died at 9:05 p.m. Thursday at Mercy Memorial Hospital. He had been ill for three years. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday at Rupp Funeral Home, where members of Monroe Post 27, Free & Accepted Masons, will conduct services at 7 p.m. Monday. He will lie in state from noon until services at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Roy Southerland, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle, where members of Monroe Post 1138, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will conduct military services. Born Oct. 2, 1926, in Harrogate, Tenn., he was the son of James William and Bertha (Estep) Sutton. He married Doris Estep Dec. 25, 1948, in Middlesboro, Ky. He worked for Monroe Police Department, 1955-61, and for General Motors Hydromatic Division from 1961 until retiring in January, 1989. He served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War, Feb. 27, 1945, until Jan. 30, 1954. He received ribbons and medal in recognition of his service. Mr. Sutton was a member of Monroe Lodge 27, F&AM; River Raisin Chapter 22, Royal Arch Masons; Monroe Scottish Rite; Mausoleum Temple Shrine of Detroit, and Monroe Post 1138, VFW. He attended Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Deborah L. (Gary) Dahl of Monroe, and three grandchildren. A brother, Billy J., preceded him in death. Memorials may be made to Monroe Missionary Baptist Church's building fund.
