He was of the Baptist faith. He served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ardance and Etta Brooks; three sisters: Lucy Fugate, Roxie Young and Daisy Robinson; four brothers: his twin Willard, Clayton, Johnson and Lester Brooks.
