From The Knopxville News Sentinel 25 Jan 2005 BROOKS, MRS. PATRICIA ANNE - age 69 of New Tazewell CORBIN, DENNIS ROSCOE - age 64 of Harrogate, BROOKS, MRS. PATRICIA ANNE - age 69 of New Tazewell, wife of the Rev. Frank Brooks, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2005 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She and her husband moved to New Tazewell over 30 years ago following her husband's retirement from the Armed Services. She was a supportive wife of her husband, a United Methodist Minister. She professed her faith in Christ at an early age and had been a member of New Tazewell United Methodist Church for over 30 years. Preceded in death by: father, James Levi Hill. Survivors include: husband, Franklin D. Brooks; daughters, Mitzi and husband George Surber, Carolyn and husband James Buck, Beth Brooks; grandchildren, Clay Surber, Levi Buck, Kelly Buck; mother, Cecil Hill; brothers, Bill Hill, Lynn and wife Ellen Hill; sister, Bobbie Jean and husband Bill Walker; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday at the Claiborne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 8pm Tuesday in the Claiborne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Duncan and the Rev. Kenneth Henderlite officiating. Music will be provided by James Hill and Stanley Leonard. Graveside services will be conducted at 11am Wednesday in the Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers:Levi Buck, Clay Surber, Kelly Buck, Tony Walker, Barry Hill, Scott Hill. Honorary Pallbearers: Doyle Odell, Jake Beeler, Dr. William Smith, Barry McKinnon, E.M. "Buddy" Duncan. CORBIN, DENNIS ROSCOE - age 64 of Harrogate, born August 20, 1940, passed away January 23, 2005, after a long illness of Multiple Myeloma (bone marrow cancer) at his daughter's home in Corryton, TN. He was loved and will be missed by many family and friends. He was a member of Freewill Baptist Church in Powder Springs. Mr. Corbin was retired from Consolidation Coal Company. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1964. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Association and American Legion Dewey Guy Post of Middlesboro. Mr. Corbin was preceded in death by: his mother, Sarah Emily Corbin; brothers, Dan Corbin and Lucky Corbin; sisters, Doll Surber and Ruth Baker Goin; nephews, Randy Corbin and Jay Baker. He is survived by: his dedicated and loving wife of 39 1/2 years, Sheila Stephenson Corbin; daughter and son-in-law, Connie & James Bayless, Corryton; one granddaughter, Sarah Linda Bayless; sisters, Julia Baker, Bonita Springs, FL; Nell (Verlin) Noe, Maryville; Geneva (Verlin) Clay, Washburn; several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and good friends. Pallbearers: Wayne Baker, Ronnie Noe, Ricky Baker, Buddy Baker, Mike Stephenson, and Joey Clay. Honorary Pallbearers: Danny Corbin, Larry Lay, Rex Caughron, Martin Nicely, Bob Donehew, Steril Wilson, Sidney Bruce, Paul Bussell, Robert Bayless, Clint Lambdin, Quentin Hale and Dr. Richard Lee. Special thanks are extended to the Baker Cancer Center in Harrogate, Baptist Hospice and Dr. Richard Lee.
