From the Knoxville News Sentinel 28 Jan 2005 ROBISON, REV. JOHN B. - born July 15, 1919, age 85, of Sharps Chapel TN, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday morning, January 26, 2005, at St. Mary's Medical Center. He served during World War II in the South Pacific for 34 months and was in the military for a total of four years. He was a member of Blazing Star Lodge #455 F. &A.M., of Sharps Chapel, TN. He gave his life to Christ in 1960 and joined Taylors Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he was ordained as Deacon and later ordained as minister. He pastored Taylors Grove Missionary Baptist Church for 25 years. He also pastored Blue Springs Missionary Baptist Church, Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Little Barren Missionary Baptist Church, and Pump Hollow Missionary Baptist Church. He baptized and married many during his 35 years of service to the Lord. Rev. Robison worked for the Tennessee Highway Department for 15 years and later worked for Tennessee Valley Authority for 13 years. He was a lifelong farmer. Preceded in death by: one son, Johnny B. Robison; one son in law, Fred Eastridge; mother and father, Tom and Rispy Robison; three brothers, Joe Robison, Charlie Robison, and Bill Robison; four sisters, Della Eastridge, Ollie Keck, Zelpher Williams, and Satra Braden. He is survived by: wife of 59 years, Mrs. Ruth Robison, of Sharps Chapel, TN; three daughters, Francis Eastridge, of Sharps Chapel, Toni Robison, of Lewisville, TX, Billie Baker of Maynardville, TN; three daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Stanley Williams, of Maynardville, TN, Joyce and Bobby Meyers, of New Tazewell, TN, and Donna and Lynn England of Elizabethton, TN; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends 6 to 9 p.m., Friday at Cooke Mortuary. Funeral service for Rev. Robison will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2005 at Taylors Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Masonic services will be held before funeral service. Interment will be at Taylors Grove Cemetery with full Military Honors. Rev. Gary Tye, and Rev. Greg Sharp officiating. Singers will be Leatherwood Quartet. Active pallbearers: grandsons, Jeff Baker, John Thomas Williams, Derick Williams, Jody Eastridge, Robby England, Matthew Ford, and Jeremy Lester. Honorary Pallbearers: Sons-in-law, Wayne Beason, Matthew Cooke, Clifton England, Palmer (Bit) Rouse, Troy Holloway, Randy Ford, Danny Baker, Bobby Ray, Doug Bell, Clayton Helms, the children of Georgette, and the late Edward Collins, and all his Preacher Friends, very close and special friends, Odra and Mildred England, Arnold and Coy Jones. Memorials may be made to Taylors Grove Cemetery Fund.
