Margaret Odessa Bowman Margaret Odessa Bowman, age 82, of Monroe Twp., died June 20,2006 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe Family and friends may call at the Rupp Funeral Home, Inc., Monroe, MI Friday 2-9 and Saturday from lO-11 am. with services to follow at 11 am. The Rev. Southerland of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle, MI. Margaret was born September 4, 1923, in Lafollette, TN to Hugh and Belle (Lumpkins) McNeeley. She married Ira "Millard" Bowman, December 29, 1945 in LaFollette, TN. He died August 6,2002. Margaret was a member of the Monroe Missionary Baptist Church and Ready Sunday School class & Joys Singing group, where she established and coordinated the church nursery. She was a 1943 graduate of LaFollette High School. She enjoyed senior choir, Vacation Bible School, Monroe Senior Citizens, Ladies Crafting Guild at MMBC, sewing, quilting ,crafting and gardening. Margaret is. survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Patrick) Doran of Monroe, MI and Terry (George) McLendon of Durham, NC; a grandson Brandon Doran; granddaughters, Heather McLendon and Audrey; sisters, Nadine Brooks of Marysville and Avenelle Wheeler of Knoxville, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband; 4 brothers, Edgert, Carl, Bill and James McNeeley; sisters, Ida Robbins, Estelle White, Edna Brown, Myrtle Brown, Georgia Ballard, Nina Petray, and 2 infant sisters. Memorials can be made to Monroe Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund. (Paid Death Notice) ********************************* Hazel Littrell Vandegrift Killion Mrs. Hazel Littrell Vandegrift Killion, 91, formerly of Monroe, MI died 6-16-06 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was born June 22, 1914 in Shawnee, Tennessee to Sterling and Sally Littrell. Mrs. Killion was a graduate of Monroe High School. During her life she lived in Tennessee, Delaware, Virginia, Alabama and Oklahoma. She worked for Selective Service, Prudential Life Insurance Company and Lamson Dept. Store in Toledo. She married Walter N. Vandegrift in August Qf 1934. He was killed in France during WWII. She married Robert C. Killion in October 1948. She was a member of St. Paul's Methodist church, General Federation of Women's Club, Life Member of The Monroe Women's Center, The Thrift Shop and several bridge groups. Mrs. Killion is survived by four children, Sally Vandegrift Kilgo of Citrus Heights, CA, Judy Miller Tresnan of Monroe, MI, Robert S. Killion of Virginia Beach, VA, Jennifer Killion Holmes of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren, Jill (Cary) Barron, Renee (Steve) Cicero, Amanda Holmes, Sean, Tiffany & Meghan Killion, Scott (Dina) Kilgo, Steven Kilgo; 7 greatgrandchildren, Breann, Derek and Colen Barron, Lauren & Jarrett Cicero, Brian and Kate Kilgo; 1 great-great-grandchild, Makenna Barron. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Paid Death Notice ************************************ Ruby Lee Billmeyer Ruby Lee Billmeyer, age 83, of Monroe, MI died at the Lutheran Home on July 4,2006. Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 pm. and Friday from 2 to 8pm. at the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Carleton, MI. Ruby will lie in state Saturday, July 8 at 10 am. at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Monroe, with services to follow at 11, the Rev. Larry K. Loree, Sr., Holy Ghost Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemene Cemetery, Monroe . Ruby was born October 20, 1924 in Tazewell, TN to William and Minnie (Greer) Miles. She married John F. Billmeyer, March 23, 1946 in Monroe. Ruby was a homemaker. She had been employed at Gruber's Store in Carleton in the 1940's. She also worked at Willow Run Bomber Plant and Jackson Plant, building planes during WWll. She was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, its Ladies Aid, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Ash Senior Citizens and lived in Carleton for 70 years. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Sherry Werner; son-in-law, Keith Werner; four brothers, Walter, Charlie, Tom and Hubert Miles; and three sisters, Sara Sanders, Lassie Brooks and Rachel Marsh. She is survived by daughters, Jane (David) Harlow of Ann Arbor, MI and Mary (James) Wickenheiser of Carleton; a brother, Sam (Phyllis) Miles of Carleton; grandchildren, Patrick (Jen) Harlow, Rose Harlow, Joe (Mariya) Wickenheiser, John Wickenheiser, Nicole Wickenheiser, Brandy Werner and Ryan Werner; great-grandchildren, Katlin McCullough, Haily McCullough, Patrick Harlow, Tyler Harlow, Makenna Wickenheiser and Kali Wickenheiser. Memorials can be made to the Lutheran Home, Monroe; Holy Ghost Lutheran Church,Monroe; or Heartland Hospice. (Paid Death Notice) _
