    1. 1836, 1837, 1838, 1839, 1840 tax lists question
    2. Betty Lee Davis
    3. Can anyone tell me if there are 2 Isaac Wallens listed on any of these tax lists? My book shows 2 but I can't understand quite what it means. I see a John Wallen and Isaac which I take to be John and his son, Isaac by Jerusha Rentfro. But then I see an Isaac listed separately and I wonder if this could be the name of a son of Elisha Wallen who d. 1850 in OH and filed for a Rev. War pension 3 times? The names of his children remain uncertain and none of his boys names are known...he seems to have had 2 or perhaps 3 boys. 5 girls. Some researchers believe a daughter of Elisha to be the wife of Wm. Ely whose name was Margaret. And a Nancy who md. Arthur McTee and lived in Harlan Co., KY. A suppossed unmd.daughter, Lucy ,lived with him when he died at an advanced age in 1850 OH.This older man lives very close to John and some of John's children on the tax lists, but John would be his nephew. This John's father was ALSO an Elisha who was a longhunter and d. in MO 1814. So 2! different people. We don't know this Elisha's wife's full name but a headstone in OH says Ann. Could be...Nancy? Hannah? I believe I saw this on the 1839 list which was alphabetized and confusing because of that. Thanks to anyone who has access to these lists. Sure can't find them on the web!
