From the Knoxville News Sentinel 21 Mar 2005 MINTON, MS. MONICA - age 53 of New Tazewell, was born September 18, 1951 and passed away March 18, 2005 at the Claiborne County Hospital. She was a member of the New Tazewell First Baptist Church. She taught school in the Claiborne County School System for 28 years. She worked many years at Star Video. Monica was a very loving and giving person and loved her family very dearly. She loved flowers, gardening photography and crafts. She was preceded in death by her father, Hobert Minton; grandparents, William Manis and Pearl Minton. She is survived by her mother, Billie Minton of New Tazewell; sisters, Marian "Libbie" McCollough and husband, Sam of Tazewell, Marcia Minton of New Tazewell; niece, Marianne McCollough of Tazewell; grandmother, Ruby Corbett of Jacksonville, Fla.; aunts, Wanda Large of White Pine, Tenn., Elizabeth Cook of Jacksonville, Fla.; and many other friends and relatives. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 7 p.m. Monday March 21, 2005 at the Claiborne Funeral Home with Dr. Randy Pressnell officiating. Dottie Crutchfield and Pat Tarter will provide music. Graveside services 11 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005 with relatives and friends to meet at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers: Glen McCollough, Jim Shipley, Virgil Herrell, Bob Johnson, John Woods, Bud Butler, Danny Lundy and Richard Harmon.
