The 1850 Claiborne County census shows the following: Elender GOIN age 13, living in house 789 with Wilson GOIN (assume that Elender is Wilson's daughter). Elenor E. GOIN age 18 is living in house 1048 with the William HAMILTON family. She is listed as white. Also listed in the same household is a Francis M. GOIN, age 20. Francis could be Elenor E. GOIN's brother or husband. Also in the same household is Henry GOIN, age 43, which could be Elenor and Francis's father, but he is listed as Mulatto. Andrew PHILIPS age 11 is living in house 444 with Biddy "FILIPS" who I assume is his mother. Claiborne County Marriages CD shows: Elinor GOINS married Andrew PHILLIPS on April 26, 1857. 1860 Claiborne County Census shows: No trace of Andrew PHILLIPS or Elenor E. GOIN. Elendor GOINS (female) age 22 is still living with Wilson GOINS in household 970. Did Andrew PHILLIPS die and Elender move back in with her father, of did Andrew PHILLIPS marry Elenor E. GOIN and they moved out of the county? "Lineage of Ethan E. Faulkner" written by Ethan Faulkner in 1956 shows: "Second wife of Colbert Day was Ellen GOIN WATSON, b. 1839, Tenn.; m.1862. Ellen GOIN WATSON, a widow, was first married to George WATSON. She was the daughter of Wilts GOIN of Claiborne Co., Tenn." Colbert Day was Ethan Faulkner's grandfather and Colbert did not die until Ethan was 18 years old. I have no reason to doubt Ethan's information on his Grandfather. I'm trying to determine exactly who Ellen GOIN WATSON was and her parents. I believe "Wilts GOIN" was Wilson GOIN and Ellen GOIN WATSON was Elender GOIN, his daughter. Leon Meyers
