Captain Jarvis Jackson 'Jackie' Harrell was married to Rutha Dotson.They were my great great great grandparents. Anyway,abt a week and a half ago,I went to my cousin's house in Tazewell,her name is Elizabeth Ann West Hurst.After her mother,my great aunt Lucy Kate Hayes West died,she got the old pictures,and since I am into that stuff,as she says,she gave them to me.She didn't know who most of the people were anyway. After I got home,I went into scan mode.There was a book of metal pictures in there and several postcard photos.On the back of one,was written,Bessie Hayes her picture,to Mrs. Etter Hurst.That sent me into overdrive.Most of those pictures had belonged to my great great grandma Etta Harrell,wife of Wiley Beauregard Hurst.Some of them I don't recognize,but I did know a few of them. There was a picture that was inside a book-like frame (like you see men carry off in the Civil War).I put two and two together......I have the Grainger Co. Book,with a picture of Jarvis and Rutha ,so I compared it with the one in the book and it was the same woman.Jarvis wasn't in the picture and there was a little girl,I wonder if it could be Etta when she was young.I was tickled to death to think that I have something that was possibly carried in the war,since Jarvis was a captain in the war. If anyone out there has any pictures at all of these Harrell descendants,please let me know.
