    3. Around the first part of January, I spoke with Joyce Ramsey, President of the Claiborne County Historical and Genealogical Society, and during our conversation we discussed the status of the new Heritage Book. There have been several delays on the publisher's end, so basically we were stuck in neutral while the publisher was getting their problems all taken care of. Because of the delays, the publisher has had to subcontract much of their work out in order to get caught up with all of their customers they serve. From what Joyce is told me at that time, she and two others were editing and finalizing the text one last time, something they should have been able to do months ago, but again, the publisher's delay, and once the people sub-contracted down in Mississippi get everything back, layouted, prepped and ready to go, the images will then go to North Carolina and the publishing will take place there. I can assure you that Joyce, along with everyone else who has worked on getting this book completed, has been just as frustrated as everyone else is, but this is how things go in the publishing business, and we have absolutely no control over it whatsoever. I'm feel confident however, that the finished product will make it worth the wait, so if everyone would please just be patient, you will hopefully have the new book in your hands very soon.
