    1. [TNCLAIBO] Sneed Cemetery and Walker Graves
    2. Phillip Walker
    3. A cousin has been trying to find what Paul Johnson called Sneed Cemetery, described as being half a mile southeast of Little Sycamore Road near the junction of Surber Road. Can anyone give more explicit directions? He knows the area pretty well but has been unable to find this particular cemetery. Speaking of cemeteries in the area, I don't think I've posted on this, but the graves of Edward Walker, Jr., a War of 1812 soldier, and his wife Mahala (nee Tussey) have formally been marked through the efforts of that same cousin, Tim Walker. They are in a small cemetery (just the two of them) on the old homeplace near Little Mulberry Church. After taking 162 years (from Mahala's death) to erect a tombstone, Tim and I found Mahala's real birth date one month later; go figure. For that matter, her death date, culled from Edward's second wife's pension application, apparently is also two years too early. For those keeping score at home, Mahala was actually born 29 December 1793 and apparently died 28 December 1844. And for those who have no idea what I'm talking about, if you have any Walkers whatsoever in your line who were born in or lived in Hancock County, Claiborne County, or Union County, they are probably related to Edward's line. Drop me a note, and I can probably tie them some place. -- Phillip A. Walker phillip.walker@gmail.com
