    2. Don Bunch, 82 Tazewell, Tenn. - Don Bunch passed away Monday, Aug. 7, 2006 at his home. Born Jan. 22, 1924, in the Days Siding community, he had been a resident of Claiborne County for nearly 60 years. He was well known as the owner of Bunch Auto Parts, which he ran until his retirement in 1987. After his retirement, he enjoyed life as an active member of Woodlake Golf Course, where he played almost every day, regardless of season or weather. He served honorably in World War II in Patton's Third Army and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Tazewell. He played baseball in the minor leagues for several years in Middlesboro, and was an avid baseball fan his entire life and a devoted supporter of the Atlanta Braves. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie (Baltrip) and William Mckinley Bunch; brother, Russell Bunch; and sister, Billie Jean Farmer. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Daniels Bunch of Notown, Ky.; daughters, Carolyn Martin (Jimmie) of Lynchburg, Va., Sheilagh Barclay (Tom) of Atlanta, Ga., Dona McConnell (Dan) of Tazewell, Betsy Maples (Mike) of New Tazewell, Tenn.; sons, Bruce Bunch of Tazewell, Christopher Bunch of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren, Paul Martin (Susan) of Lynchburg, Va., Jim Martin of Lynchburg, Va., Ben (Darlene) Martin of Lynchburg, Va., and Zachary Maples of New Tazewell, Tenn.; step-grandchildren, Emily and Richard Crespin, Julie and Scott Wathan of Washington, D.C., Kristen and Reid Smith-Vanez of Atlanta, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Madison and Mya Martin of Lynchburg, Va., and Rex Crespin of Washington, D.C.; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and golfing partners. A memorial service will be held, date and time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Springdale Volunteer Fire Department, 1881 Hwy 25E South, Tazewell, TN., or the American Cancer Society. Claiborne Funeral Home, New Tazewell, Tenn., is in charge of arrangements.
