Charles Christopher “Chris” Snavely, 23 Elvin “Wilis” Jessie, 60 Charles Christopher “Chris” Snavely, 23 KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Charles Christopher “Chris” Snavely, 23, a UT student, formerly of Harrogate, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2006 in Knoxville. Born May 7, 1983 in Ashland, Ky., he was the son of Charles G. and Shari Thacker Snavely. He was a member of the Executive Undergraduate Program at UT, Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Societies, The Golden Key International Honor Society, and had recently accepted a position with the Brunswick Corporation in its Financial Leadership Development Program. He was a 2001 graduate of the J. Frank White Academy. Survivors include his parents, Charles and Shari Snavely; sister, Kathryn I. Snavely; grandfather, John S. Thacker; grandmother, Arnita C. Snavely; and many other loved ones. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Reece Valley Chapel. Burial will be in the Davidson Memorial Garden, Prestonsburg, Ky. Elvin “Wilis” Jessie, 60 NEW TAZEWELL, Tenn. - Elvin “Wilis” Jessie, 60, went home to be Lord on Monday, Aug. 28, 2006. He professed faith in God at the early age of 10, and was a member of Straight Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Rosa Jessie; brothers, Norman, Lynn and Joe Jessie; sister, Naoma Jean; grandparents, Anderson and Nellie Campbell, Charles and Rowena Jessie. Survivors include wife, Alene of New Tazewell; daughters, Andrea of Murfreesboro, Becky and husband Joe Asher; son, Joe and wife Kelly of Galatin; brothers, Keith and wife Judy, New Tazewell, Bill and Anita of Lexington, Ky.; sisters, Anna Harness of Maynardville, Tenn., Carol and husband Cliff of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Caelyn Asher, Calie and Trey Goins; sisters-in-law, Sis Jessie of Tazewell, and Madeline Alston of New Tazewell; special nephew, Johnnie Maples. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Coffey Funeral Home with Dr. Randy Pressnell and the Rev. George Walker presiding. Music will be by the Liberty Quartet and David Painter. Graveside services will be held at 8 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at Birch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Coffey Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
