Elizabeth Amanda Abshire b. Feb 20 1865 in Lee Co., VA. She was illegitmate - I have no idea for sure who the father was...mother was Catherine Abshire. I believe the father could have been a Francis Hobbs. I am wondering if any one who has a copy of the birth book could see who is listed as being born on that date - Feb. 20 1865 and if not too many - let me know who. She was the last of 5 illegitimate children, so perhaps she was recorded under her birth father's name. Census records show her as Elizabeth but family always called her Amanda. Thanks, Barb
