Paul Benge, 67 Tazewell, Tenn. - Paul Benge, 67, formerly of Graysknob, Ky., passed away Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, at his home. Born Jan. 19, 1939, in Steinman, Va., he had been a resident of Illinois for 40 years. He was a retired carpenter, a member of Local Union #839. He was also a volunteer for the Hunger Ministry, and believed in the Church of Christ faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Elsie Dean Benge. Survivors include his wife, Etta Smith Benge of Tazewell; three children, Patricia Hart and husband Stewart of Cary, Ill., Pauletta Caliendo and husband Guy of Algonquin, Ill., and Robert Benge of Tazewell; five grandchildren, Vincent, Emily and Lyndsey Caliendo, Evan Hart and McKenna Hart; three brothers, Carl Benge of Lafollette, Tenn., Cleve Benge of Mary Alice, Ky., and Jimmy Benge of Kentucky; one sister, Ruby Alice Benge of Algonquin, Ill.; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Sept. 11, at 12 noon at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with Jim Callahan officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery at Keith, Ky. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation was Sunday, Sept. 10, from 3-6 p.m. in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home, Harlan, Ky., which is in charge of arrangements.
