SHELBY MARJORIE SIMMONS BROWN Marjorie Simmons Brown, age 77, of New Tazewell, was born July 26, 1929 and passed away September 15, 2006 at her home. She was a member of Head of Barren Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by husband: James Edd Brown; parents: Rev. Callie Virgil and Geneva (Duncan) Simmons; brother: Rev. William Edward Simmons; sister: Maurine Keck. She is survived by sisters: Alma Harmon, Virginia Wyatt, Alice Johnson, and Dolores Swiney; brothers: Carl Lennis Simmons, C. V. Simmons Jr., Rev. Robert E. Simmons, and David Simmons; sister-in-law: Linda Heaton and husband James; special niece: Lisa Leonard; special nephews: Eric Jason Swiney, Robert Callie Simmons, Mark Evan Leonard; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Ellison, age 61, of Fairborn, Oh, was born May 8, 1945 in Harrogate and passed away September 9, 2006 at the Hospice of Dayton, Oh. She was the daughter of the late Tilmon and Mary (Britain) Cosby. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Roger in 2000; brothers: Ronnie and Jimmy Cosby. Survivors include sons: Roger Ellison, Jr. and wife Diana of Fairborn, Oh. and Jerry Ellison and wife Laura of Tazewell; daughters: Deborah Freeman and husband Jeffrey of Dayton, Oh., Shannon Lisle and husband David of Fairborn, Oh., Catherine Anderson and husband Scot of Beavercreek, Oh.; eight grandchildren; 11 siblings; a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. MAGGIE MAE (PEGGY) GABLE Maggie Mae (Peggy) Gable, age 89, of Monroe, Mi, was born April 25, 1917 in Fork Ridge, and passed away September 8, 2006 at Medilodge of Monroe, Mi. At one time she attended Stewart Road Christian Ministries Center and Redeemer Baptist Church. She was the daughter of John and Minerva (Herrell) Woodward. She married Otis Buttery. She then married Melvin C. Gable in 1960. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother: Edward; sisters: Virginia Coldiron and Bessie Rice. Survivors include her son: Robert E. (Mary Lou) Buttery of Pentwater, Mi; daughters: Alice E. Farmer and Barbara G. Osgood both of Monroe, and Betty J. (James) Rykard of Fort Wayne, In; step-son: Mark Gable of Troy, Mo; step-daughter: Debbie Quinn of Monroe, Mi; brothers: Thomas of Cocoa, Fl and Wade B. of Tazewell; sisters: Hazel Carter of Tazewell and Reva Smith of Cocoa, Fl; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren. William Jarnigan Jr., age 70, of Bean Station, passed away September 16, 2006 with his family at his side. He professed faith in Christ at the age of 22 at Cedar Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church for many years. He was preceded in death by parents: William and Ina Jarnigan; brothers: Fred, Hugh and Earl Jarnigan; sister: Fern Jarnigan. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years: Wilma Grace Jarnigan; daughters: Robin and Ronnie Atkins of Bean Station, Janie and Lloyd Lambert of Morristown; grandchildren: Bridget Lambert of Morristown and Lucas and Miranda Atkins of Whitesburg; step-great granddaughter: Megan Leann; brother and sister-in-law: Normand and Betty Jarnigan of Thorn Hill; sister and brother-in-law: Imogene and Robert Wilder of Morristown; half sister: Jessie Boitnott of Knoxville. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jesse James Moyers and China Beatrice Bennett Moyers; brother: French David Moyers; sister: Sarah D. Moyers Barrick. He is survived by son: James H. Moyers, Jr.; grandchildren: Danielle and Shawn New, Jesse and Cody Moyers all of Tazewell; brother: Roy Wayne and Anna Moyers of Ft. Wayne, In; sisters: Nellie B. He was preceded in death by his son: Darrell Shelby; parents: Herman and Luster (Moyers) Shelby; step-mother: Gertrude Shelby; sister: Illadene Pack.
