    2. Bookout, Anna B. Liford Shelby, Mr. Ruble O. BOOKOUT, ANNA B. LIFORD - 81 of Athens, died Wednesday. Native of Claiborne County, daughter of the late, George & Hulda Bullis Liford. Preceded in death by husband, William Roy Bookout and sister, Rosella L. Watkins. Member of Lakeview Baptist Church and Athens Pilot Club. Former assistant manager of the Athens Proffitts' Department Store, retiring after 45 years of service. Survivors: 2 nephews, 2 nieces, George & Donnette Watkins of Etowah, Charlotte & Eugene Whitted, Claude E. "Johnny" & Mary Lou Watkins of all of Athens, Jane & Jimmy Knox of Niota. Funeral services 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel. Graveside services 11 a.m. Thursday at McMinn Memory Gardens. Send contributions to Lakeview Baptist Church Building Fund, 183 Co. Rd. 126, Athens, TN 37303. Family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 p.m. before the service at Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home in Athens, TN. SHELBY, MR. RUBLE O. - age 86 of New Tazewell, TN was born December 5, 1919 and passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at the Claiborne County Hospital. He was a deacon and life long member of Little Barren Baptist Church since 1936. A member of the Blazing Star Lodge # 455. He was preceded in death by his son: Darrell Shelby, parents: Herman and Luster (Moyers) Shelby, step-mother: Gertrude Shelby, sister: Illadene Pack. He is survived by his: wife of 62 years: Hazel Shelby of New Tazewell; daughters: Carol Fannon of Tazewell, and Bob Hill of Clinton, Jean Conner and husband Rick of Knoxville; daughter-in-law: Traci Shelby of New Tazewell; grandchildren: Kayla and Roger Shelby of New Tazewell; step- grandchildren: Jeff and David Fannon, Kimberly Parton and Denise Harness; three step great grandchildren; brother-in-law: Bobbie Pack of Norwalk, OH; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 till 7 PM Friday, September 15, 2006 with Masonic Services and funeral services to follow at 7:00 PM in the Claiborne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Atkins and Rev. L.B. Herrell officiating. Music by the Liberty Quartet. Pallbearers: Dwight Craig, Leslie Craig, Dwight Smith, Jiggs Fannon, Tom George, David Barnard. Honorary Pallbearers: Lynn Pack, Allen Pack, Lloyd Mayes, Jerry Savage, Clyde Robertson and the Deacons of Little Barren Baptist Church.
