WALTER GIBBONS Walter Gibbons, age 100, a long time resident of Lee Co., Va, passed away August 29, 2006. He was born in Bell Co., Ky, the son of the late William and Nancy Hensley Gibbons. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years: Martha Wright Gibbons; five brothers: Elige, Frank, Bert, Bishop and Jesse; three sisters: Rhoda, Josie, and Aekie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert E. and Reba Hamilton Harrell, wife of 15 years, Katherine Ingle Fox Harrell, sister, Rhonda Jean Hixon, and former wife, Thomasene Gray and their infant daughter. He retired as a machinist from Martin Marietta Y-12 and has enjoyed farming, cattle and hay, timber and saw milling all of his adult life. Jack was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Pigeon Forge. He was a WWII Veteran, who served his country honorably from 1941 to 1946. He was a Platoon Sergeant of the 559th Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion.
