HELEN CLARK - age 83 of Tazewell, Tn. was born November 15, 1921 and passed away December 29, 2004 at the Claiborne County Hospital. She was a member of The Tazewell United Methodist Church for 44 years; she sponsored the United Methodist Church Youth Fellowship; member of the Senior Adult Class of the Tazewell United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star; preceded in death by her parents, James M. and Ollie Clark; sisters, Nadine Luttrell, Wilma Dowling; brothers, Murphy, Stanley and Wayne Clark. She is survived by her husband of 56 years: Clyde L. Huffaker, Sr.; daughter & son-in-law: Phyllis & Kay Stark and their children: Stephanie Stark Tiffanie & Thomas Boone of Oxford, N.C.; son: William Michael Huffaker, Sr. and his son Will Huffaker, Jr. of Oxford, NC; son: C. Lee Huffaker, Jr. & wife Liz Huffaker and their children, Bradford & Amanda Huffaker of Maryville, Tn. She was a very giving & loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 P.M. Friday December 31, 2004 at the Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell with funeral service to follow at 7:00 P.M. He was a member of the Haynes Flat Baptist Church, Past Master of Shawanee Lodge 546, Past Patron of Eastern Star 436, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Dora Yoakum; son; Joe Ben; sisters; Willie Dee Yoakum, Mary Lee Earle, and Eva Mauldin; grandson, Jackie Tilmon Hopper and step-grandson Larry Glenn Jones. Survivors: wife: Trula Graves Jones Yoakum Speedwell; sons: Jerry and Classie Yoakum Apple Valley, Ca., Jimmy C. Yoakum Harriman, Tn.; daughters: Joyce Cabe Powell, Tn., Jane and Buford Mayes Speedwell, Tn., Mary Ann and Doug Bolton Speedwell, Tn.; step-sons Gary and Donna Jones New Port, MI, Larry (Butch) Jones Speedwell, Tn.; sister: Hazel May Yoakum Hatmaker and husband Rev. Owen Hatmaker LaFollette, Tn; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 6 step- great grandchildren. Funeral services 11 a.m. Saturday, January 1, 2005 at Haynes Flat Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Owens and Rev, Mark Bayless officiating. Music by the Glory Road Boys. Burial in the Carr Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers; Gerald Yoakum, David, Donald, Tommy Hopper, Brian, Jared, Sean Medley, John David Mayes and Tom McEachran. Honorary pallbearer Scott Dunsmore.
