VANNOY, J.R. - age 72 of Harrogate, TN, was born Nov. 8, 1934, passed away on Dec. 2, 2006 as a result of an auto accident. He was a founding deacon of the Landmark Baptist Church. He loved God, his family and his community. He served as Claiborne County Commissioner for 16 years and Claiborne County Board of Education School Board Member for 4 years. He was a member of the AICA, TN Cattleman's Association and VA Cattleman's Association. He was a loyal fan of Cumberland Gap High School basketball and Lincoln Memorial University basketball teams. He was preceded in death by: parents, Hubert and Myrtle Vannoy; brother, Don Vannoy; brothers-in-law, Ray Pierce and Vaughn Brewer; sister-in-law, Lucille Roberts; father and mother-in-law, Willard and Estelle Pierce. He is survived by: wife of 53 years, Imogene Vannoy; sons, Roger (Pam) Vannoy and Ron (Rita) Vannoy; daughter, Michelle (Scott) Huddleston, all of Harrogate, TN; granddaughters, Morgane Vannoy of Morristown, TN, Jenna Vannoy, Whitney Vannoy and Jaymin Huddleston, all of Harrogate, TN; sisters, Anna Mae Brewer of Piney Flatts and Mollie Vannoy of Nashville, TN; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, at Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate, TN with funeral service to follow at 8:00 pm with Rev. David Bolton officiating. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in the Greer's Chapel, Harrogate Com-munity at 10:00am Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006. Coffey Funeral Home in charge.
