>From the LaFollette Press 7 Dec 2006 Brenda Sue Hammons, age 60 of Speedwell Rhonda Lee Thomas, age 39 of New Tazewell, formerly of Speedwell Brenda Sue Hammons, age 60 of Speedwell passed away Nov. 29 at the St. Mary's Health System in Knoxville. She was a member of Wallins Creek Baptist Church. She was very beautiful, compassionate, sweet and forgiving. She was also a loving wife, mother, caring friend and considerate of others. She was preceded in death by her parents, Milus Sr. and Lillian Miracle Long. She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Hammons of Speedwell; son and daughter in law, Ronald D. and Jennifer Hammons of McKinney, TX; son, Danny R. Hammons of LaFollette; daughter, Kristie Hammons of Jacksboro; granddaughter, Jessica Stewart; brother and sister in law, Milus Jr. and Mary Long of Corbin, KY. Funeral services were held Dec. 3 in the Martin Wilson Chapel with the Rev. Donald Shown officiating. Interment was in the Powell Valley Cemetery and Memorial Gardens. Martin Wilson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Rhonda Lee Thomas, age 39 of New Tazewell, formerly of Speedwell passed away Dec. 3 at UT Hospital. She was born May 16, 1967 in Tazewell, the daughter of the late James Edward and Edna Louverina Braden Thomas. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Jamison David Thomas of New Tazewell; sisters, Kathy Rogers of LaFollette, Vicky Davis of Houston, TX, Doris Anderson of New Tazewell, Debbie Hodge of Sharps Chapel, Brenda Barry Pierce of Andersonville, SC and Rita Combs of New Tazewell. Funeral services were held Dec. 5 in the Reece Valley Chapel with the Rev. Steve Dunn officiating. Interment was in the Hill Cemetery.
