Ruth Allene Bailey New Tazewell, Tenn. - Ruth Allene Bailey, 85, born Sept. 7, 1921, passed away Monday, Dec. 25, 2006. She retired from First Century Bank after many years of service, and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Preceding her in death were her parents, James A. and Etta (Campbell) Bailey; and brothers, Howard Bailey and Dan Bailey She made her home with her niece, Janet and Lynn Barnard and daughter Danielle Barnard, all of New Tazewell. She is also survived by caregiver, Penny Neal of Tazewell; and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends, Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at Claiborne Funeral Home with the Rev. John Lewis and the Rev. Paul Collingsworth officiating. Music will be by Pleasant View Choir. Burial will follow in the Campbell Cemetery at Sycamore. Pallbearers are Carl Bolton, Dennis Estes, Wayne Estes, Doug Venable, Ed Johns and Dillard Barton. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Claiborne Funeral Home.
