    2. Harvey Scott, 66 Tazewell, Tenn. - Harvey Scott, 66, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at Laurel Manor Nursing Home, Tazewell, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Jack and Polly Pace Scott; two sisters, Frances Scott and Marie Goings; three brothers, Steve Scott, Amos Scott and Elijah Scott. He is survived by: three daughters, Vicky King of Peru, Ill., Debbie Scott of Toluca, Ill., and Tina Scott of Peru, Ill.; three grandchildren, Kelly King, A.J. King, and Kayla Scott; three sisters, Naomi Clarke of Manassas, Va., Zelma Goings of Waynesboro, Penn., and Thelma Scott of Rose Hill, Va.; four brothers, Virgil Scott of Cumberland Gap, Tenn., Clyde Scott of Huntly, Va., David Scott of Franklin, Va., and James Scott of Spotsylvania, Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at Arney-Mullins Funeral Home, Rose Hill Chapel. Services will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jay Harold Smith and the Rev. Wiley Dillman officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, in the Pace Community Cemetery in Rose Hill. Ruth Campbell Hurst, 85 Tazewell, Tenn. -Ruth Campbell Hurst, 85, born March 3, 1921, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2007. A member of Blairs Creek Baptist Church, she was a loving mother and mamaw. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Nathan and Ida (Lambert) Campbell; husband, Rev. Granville Hurst; son, Randy Hurst; daughter, Phyllis Ann Hurst; brothers, Clyde Campbell, and Nathan Campbell Jr., who she raised as a son; and sisters, infant sister, and Elsie Amix. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Hurst and Donny Burris, Tazewell; granddaughters, Jennisy Harmon and husband Callie of Cleveland, Tenn., Kristen Shockley of Tazewell, and Kelli Shockley of Tazewell, and Anthony Cupp; great-grandson, Craye Harmon of Cleveland, Tenn.; brother, Waymond “Buster” and wife Helen Campbell of LaFollette, Ind.; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, at Claiborne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Overholt and the Rev. Roger Hansard officiating. Music will be provided by Janice Derreberry. Burial will be in the Hurst Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anthony Cupp, Callie Harmon, Greg Campbell, Jimmy Branson, Carson Campbell, Terry Campbell and Mason Masingo. Pauline Wyatt Barnett, 83 TAZEWELL, Tenn. - Pauline Wyatt Barnett, 83, passed away Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, at the Claiborne County Hospital, Tazewell. She is the daughter of the late William Thomas Gray and Bessie Collingsworth Gray. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two sons, Arthur and Charlie Wyatt, one brother, John H Gray; and four sisters, Corine Younce, Lucille Wyatt, Betty Jean Wyatt, and Azalee Gray. She is survived by two sons, Raymond Wyatt of Tazewell, and James Wyatt, London, Ky.; two sisters, Loretta Barnes and Mary Nell Vestal, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11, at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Boyd Gray and the Rev. Ralph Tennyson officiating. Music will be provided by Alva Cunnigham.
