Lucy Golden Payne Chadwell NEW TAZEWELL, Tenn. — Lucy Golden Payne Chadwell went to her eternal reward Wednesday, April 18, 2007. She passed away at Laurel Manor Health care in New Tazewell. Born Jan. 3, 1908, she was the daughter of the late J.B. and Bertha Fletcher Payne. She was the oldest member of Riverview Baptist Church. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends. As well as her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Riley Morgan Chadwell; son, Robert Sherrill Chadwell, and an infant son, Billy Carroll; grandson, Larry Morgan Dunn; and son-in-law, Douglas Dunn. Survivors include her children, Mrs. Cecil (Mildred) Fultz of New Tazewell, Harry Cleston and Julia Chadwell of San Marcas, Calif., Riley Morgan Chadwell of Omaha, Neb., and Mary Cornelia Chadwell Dunn of Fairfax, Va.; and a host of grandchildren, great and great, great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 20, at Coffey Funeral Home, New Tazewell Chapel. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Coffey Funeral Home, New Tazewell Chapel, with the Rev. Swan Bush and Clyde Sandifur officiating. Singers will be Ralph and Ray Fultz. She will be laid to rest in Riverview Cemetery next to Riverview Church. Her grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
