    1. [TNCLAIBO] Henry Williams in the 1840 & 1850 Claiborne Census
    2. Hi, Does anyone have any information on Henry Williams in the 1840 and 1850 Claiborne census? In 1840 he was age 40-50 and was engaged in manufacture and trade with 1 female 30-40, 1 female 20-30, 1 male 15-20, 2 females 5-10, 3 females 0-5 and 1 male 0-5. In 1850 he was age 54, born NC and listed tailor as his occupation. Also listed in the household: Nancy Williams 45 VA May Williams 19 TN Isabella Williams 12 TN Emeline Williams 10 TN George W. Welborne 8 TN James Williams 5 TN Margaret Williams 3 TN There is also a Losson Williams age 23, born NC, farmer and his wife Catherine age 23, Born TN who interest me. I wonder if Losson is possibly a misspelling of Lewis S. Williams who is a possible brother to my ancestress Mary E. Williams. My ancestress Mary E. Williams married Andrew Jackson Sanders in Claiborne County on June 30, 1842. Of all the Williams in the area Henry is the logical choice to be her father. Mary Williams was born in NC in 1819. In the 1860 census Jackson and Mary Williams Sanders son, Lewis Sanders and her probable brother Lewis S. Williams are living with another probable brother Henry Bartlett Williams household in Mecklenburg Co, NC. Family tradition stated that they sent him to her brother to learn a trade while they and their younger children and several Sanders brothers and their families went to Missouri from TN. I have been unable to find Henry or Nancy Williams or any of the younger children after the 1850 census. It is possible Henry died in Claiborne County and Nancy remarried. I would appreciate any response or any advice on where to look next. Does anyone know of any excellent researchers for hire in Claiborne? Or books I should purchase? I also need some help on my Sanders and Cunningham families. Best regards, Diana Dobbins ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
