    2. Armour Campbell Edsel F. Raines Edsel F. Raines, 81 SPEEDWELL, Tenn. - Edsel F. Raines, 81, passed away Friday, April 13, 2007. Born July 12, 1925, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elsie Raines. He was the oldest member and a charter member of Powell Valley C.G.M.A. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore Raines. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Alma Dean Raines of Speedwell; daughter, Patsy and husband Dennis Lay of New Tazewell, Tenn.; grandchildren, Shannon and Gary Johnson of Tazewell, Tenn., Scott and Becky Lay of Middlesboro; great-grandchild, Sydney Lay of Middlesboro, and an expected great grandchild of Shannon and Gary; brother, Troy and wife Helen Raines of Toledo, Ohio; special friends, the Rev. Billy and Betty Paul and family, and Church Family, all of Speedwell; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends and neighbors. The family received friends Sunday, April 15, from 6 until 9 p.m. at Claiborne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 16, at 2 p.m. at the Powell Valley C.G.M.A. with the Rev. Billy Paul and the Rev. Gerald Warf officiating. Music will be provided by the church choir. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the church service on Monday. Burial will follow in the Yoakum Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mike Paul, Michael Paul, Ernie Douglas, Virgil Claiborne, Frank Norvell, and Danny Cordes. Honorary pallbearers will be his Church Family. He belonged to the Brick Masons Union. Preceding him in death were his parents, Taylor and Annie Marcum Campbell; two brothers, Henry Campbell and Joe Campbell; and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Betty Taylor Campbell of New Tazewell; three sons, Jeffrey Campbell of New Tazewell, Calvin Campbell of Geneva, Ohio, and David Campbell of Mentor, Ohio ; one daughter, Sherry McCloud of Wheeling, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Tom Campbell of Knoxville, Tenn., and George Campbell of Painesville, Ohio; five sisters, twin sister, Jewell Glass of Rose Hill, Va., Zelma Neal of Illinois, Vivian Seales of Rose Hill, Va., Betty Jean Rowlett of Ewing, Va., and Thelma Harbor of Indiana. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at Arney-Mullins Funeral Home, Rose Hill Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Charles Long officiating. Burial will be in the Leftwich/Edds Cemetery Ewing, Va. Pallbearers will be Joe Glass, Joey Glass, John Glass, Freddie Rowlett, Scottie Scott, and Brandon Dean.
