    3. Ruth M. Ellison April 1, 1921-March 7, 2007 story updated March 09. 2007 11:00AM DUNDEE - Services have been set for Ruth M. Ellison, 85, of Dundee, who died Wednesday at Mercy Memorial Hospital, Monroe. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Rupp Funeral Home, Monroe. She will lie in state from 10 until services at 11 a.m. Monday at North Monroe Street Church of God, Monroe. The Rev. Rick Massingill, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Fred Cornelius will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Monroe. Born April 1, 1921, in Tazewell, Tenn., she was the daughter of Herman and Florence (Edmondson) Wylie. She married Carl Charles Ellison Feb. 6, 1940, in Angola, Ind. She had worked at Consolidated Paper Co.'s Southside plant and Leake Stamping Co. Since 1939, Mrs. Ellison was a member of North Monroe Street Church of God, where she was Willing Worker secretary/treasurer and a longtime Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, canning, reading, drawing and painting. Surviving are her husband; two sons, Charles (Karen) of LaPorte, Ind., and Thomas of Dundee; a brother, James (Dorothy) of Deerfield; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Marie Bastien; five brothers, Donald, William, Robert, Eugene and R.G., and three sisters, Coralee Goins, Marie Estep and Theo Wylie. (Jack) Harmon April 23, 1926-March 4, 2007 story updated March 09. 2007 11:00AM Arthur G. (Jack) Harmon, 80, of Monroe died at 1:40 a.m. Sunday at Medilodge of Monroe. He had been ill for eight years. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Rupp Funeral Home, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Walter Salisbury will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. Born April 23, 1926, in Tazewell, Tenn., he was the son of Arthur Glenn and Nettie (McBee) Harmon Sr. He married Pauline L. Turner June 2, 1947, in Monroe. She died Feb. 25, 1999. Mr. Harmon worked at Consolidated Paper Co.'s Southside plant for 33 years, retiring in 1975. He served in the Army during World War II, and served in the Battle of the Bulge. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and dogs. Surviving are a daughter, Pamela F. (Keith) Zion of Lambertville; a sister, Nan Johnson of Tazewell; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles, and three sisters, Mary Campbell, Frenchie Rouse and Martha Keck.
