He was saved at the age of 8 and was a member of Chittum's Chapel Baptist Church. Joseph was a veteran of the United States Army where he received The Army Good Conduct Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Medal, and Army Service Ribbon. Joseph enjoyed fishing, time with his two Jack Russell Terriers, and was a huge sports fan, especially of the UT Vols Football. He had a great sense of humor, evoking laughter from those around him.
