She retired from Tri-State Tobacco warehouse as a bookkeeper after 20 years. She was a previous board member of the Claiborne County Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents: Quincy Herrington and Eula Murpree Herrington; brother: Quincy Herrington. She is survived by her husband of 57 years: Clyde R. KAY EVANS Kay Evans, age 55, of Greenville, formerly of Tazewell, passed away February 19, 2007 at her home. She was a 1970 graduate of Claiborne County High School. JAMES FINLEY HIPSHIRE James Finley Hipshire, age 67, of Sneedville, was born February 26, 1939 and passed away February 22, 2007. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Bean Station. He served in the Air Force from 1961 until 1965. He was preceded in death by his parents: Lee and Mollie (Collins) Hipshire; sister: Anna Bea Dalton. HORACE LEE LEACH Horace Lee Leach, age 72, of Speedwell, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a life-long resident of Speedwell. He was saved at age nine and joined New Salem Baptist Church in Speedwell. At his death he was a member of Duff Baptist Church in Duff, Tn. He was a 51-year member of Valley Star #577 Masonic Lodge. Horace Lee worked at various jobs through the years, but his heart could only be happy working on his birthplace farm. He enjoyed hard work producing burley tobacco, hay, corn, beef cattle, and a vegetable garden. His home was always surrounded by beautiful flowers. He also enjoyed maintaining the Leach Family Cemetery until his health failed. He loved the Lord, attending church, and spending time with his family - especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Horace McKinley and Carrie Izetta Bullard Leach; sister: Ruby Leach Myers. He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years: Betty Spradlin Leach; son: Roger Lee Leach and wife Amy of Speedwell; daughter: Lana Kay Russell and husband Willard Jr. (Bill) of New Tazewell; sister: Audra (Bobbie) Leach Russell and husband Lloyd of Speedwell; five grandchildren: Caleb, Ethan, and Hannah Leach, Mary Faith and Sherman McKinley Russell; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rouse, age 79, of Southwest City, Mo., was born on July 17, 1927 in New Tazewell and passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, February 5, 2007 at his home following a short illness. He was the son of the late Earl and Frenchie (Harmon) Rouse. He served his country in the US Army Calvary division during WWII. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 1983. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years: Bozena Rouse; daughters: Frenchie Lilly and husband Art of LaGrange Wy., Mary Lou Rouse of Darlington, Sc., Roseann Stefanski and husband Robert of Monroe, Mi.; half brothers: Tom Rouse and Joe Rouse of New Tazewell; half sister: Fay Rouse Cleer of Bay Villiage, Oh.; grandchildren: Rebekah Timmer, Elizabeth Lilly, Christina Lilly, Jessica Lilly, Arthur W. STEVE JACKIE SHELTON Steve Jackie Shelton was born September 27, 1949 and passed away February 22, 2007 at Baptist Medical Center in Knoxville. He accepted Christ as his Savior on October 11, 2006.
