Hello List, In traceing back thru the life story of our Uncle Josh Stapleton, he states that they were living in the Earls Hollow area in the mid 1930's (prior to TVA's Norris Dam) and moved to the Slate Creek area. Access to this area seemed to be made by water. I assume he was refering to the Powell River. Can anyone tel me where This Slate Creek area might be? Thanks so much. Jean and Arion Cole

Slate Creek is a branch off Powell River in the McNew Hollow area. It is east of Locust Grove in the Goin area of Claiborne County John Keck Sr. owned land "on the head of Slate Creek" that bordered John McNews land.
