In the minutes for the Big Springs Baptist Church there is a mention in 1806 of Ransom and Elizabeth Day being received into fellowship. 1. Am I correct that this is (John) Ransom Day and Elizabeth Smith? A Ransom Day was excluded in May 1808 after a long series of disagreements with various members of the church. Then in Sep 1808 an Elizabeth Day was excluded. 2. Are these the same two people who joined the church in 1806? Elizabeth (same woman?) was restored by recantation in Mar 1813. Then in Sep 1833 a Ransom Day was received by recantation and a Daniel Day was received by experience. 3. Is the Ransom who was received by recantation the husband of Elizabeth above? 4. What relationship is there between Ransom Day and Daniel Day? Then in October 1833 Ransom Day was received in the church by experience. 5. Who is this Ransom Day? In Apr 1836 a Bro. Ransom Day junior was cited. 6. Is this the same Ransom who joined the church in Oct 1833? In May 1836 Ransom Day junior is mentioned in the minutes. Also in Feb 1837 the designation "junior" is used. In Jan 1837 Ransom Day is mentioned but without the "junior." 7. Do all three refer to the same man? In Sep 1841 Ransom Day and Sarah Day were dismissed by letter. 8. Who is this man and what is his relationship to Sarah Day? The next mention of a Ransom Day was in Apr 1845, then again in Jan 1846 and Feb 1846. 9. Who is this Ransom Day? Is it Ransom who married Elizabeth Smith? Was he living with widowed daughter in law Nancy (Hurst) Day? The Ransom Day who married Nancy Hurst was dead by late 1842 so the entries in 1845 and 1846 would not be that man (Ransom m Hurst)? 10. Or is the Ransom Day mentioned in these three entries the son of Ransom & Nancy who married Catherine Bowman in 1843 and died in 1847? I hope someone will be able to help me sort out these men. Thanks in advance, Sharon Bryant
