If anyone is interested, I've posted a transcription of the payroll roster for John Slatton's Company of the East Tennessee Militia (5th Regiment under Col. Edwin Boothe) at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~edwardbwalker/pensions/john_slatton_company.html<http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~edwardbwalker/pensions/john_slatton_regiment.html> The transcription is made from the original payroll roster at the National Archives. The company, or at least part of it, was recruited in Sullivan County, but I suspect that several Claiborne County men are probably included. If anyone recognizes any of the people here who either lived in Claiborne County at the time or soon moved there, I'm always curious about who my ancestors knew. -- Phillip A. My GGG Grandfather, John Flora, was a member of this company. According to another person's research, he was discharged by a doctor on 13 Jan 1815. He was born in York Co., Pennsylvania, but moved to Grainger Co., Tennessee as an infant. I am descended from his son (also named John) born to his first wife, who is unknown. His second wife, Maria Burchell, applied for a widow's pension in April 1878.
