    1. Day families, early 19th century
    2. Sharon Bryant
    3. Hello, I need some help untangling some Day families living in Claiborne Co. before 1850. The ones I am specifically interested in are as follows: [All come from the 1830 census for Claiborne] Ransom Day (jr.) age 40-50 John Day age 30-40 Ambrose Day (jr) age 20-30 Reuben Day age 60-70 Ransom Day (sr) age 70-80 Sarah Day age 30-40 Ambrose Day (sr) age 60-70 I believe that Ransom Day (jr) is my ancestor who married Mary Brooks. Both were born in Virginia between 1780-1783, were in Claiborne Co. in 1830 and 1840 and in Putnam Co., IN by 1850. There are four known children: William m Jane Wells; Cola m Malicoat; Elizabeth m Surber and then Malicoat, and Nancy, m Levi Lewis in IN. DNA testing proves that descendants of this Ransom (jr) are related to descendants of Samuel B. Day (married Winny Evans). Samuel is believed to be the son of Ambrose Day and Nancy Bocock of Albemarle Co., VA and Claiborne Co., TN. It also appears that Ambrose was in Putnam Co., IN in 1850. Please help me sort out these 7 Day families. I'm desperate for assistance. Thank you, Sharon Bryant 'nee Day

    2. Hi Folks, The Pleasant Point Cemetery is having it's annual Fall Fundraiser in the coming weeks. If anyone has anything they would like to donate for the Country Store or for the Auction, there is still plenty of time to get it to them. Your donation is tax deductible too! I sent a 47 pound box to them for the Country Store and I'd like to challenge all you cousins out there that have kin buried at the Cemetery to step up and support them. All funds are used for the upkeep and maintenance of the Cemetery. If you'd like to send a donation I'll be happy to give you some addresses that you can send it to. I'll let you know the exact date of the Festival as soon as it's been confirmed. They had a date set but it may be postponed for various reasons. Either way I'll let you know.
