Does anyone have a listing for burials in this cemetery? Or does anyone know where I could get this information? It has many field stones with no names and I think my John Caylor family may be buried there, since they were members of that church. Thanks, Diane dinomc@aol.com ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at http://www.aol.com.
I'm looking for any information on the family of John Caylor of Claiborne County. He was born in 1795 in North Carolina. I would be very interested in sharing the information I have on this family. I have the volumes of the deed books that Laura Willis prepared. They give an abstract of each deed and that is why each volume covers only a few years. The abstract gives the grantee, grantor, location, joiners and witnesses - a lot of information. I felt Laura had done this well. There is an index in each volume. The books are 8.5 x 11, soft cover, tape bound. I talked on the phone with Don Simmons of Simmons Publications. They have done some other counties, one being Orange Co., NC and some in KY, maybe others. I think Laura's books are a good resource and Simmons Publications a reputable business. I am addressing this inquiry to Marla. A few years ago, I believe you were the person who sent me pictures of Martha Nevils and James Campbell's tombstones. I lost the copies as well as the info that went with them. Could you send me the dates of their births and deaths. Were they legible on the stones? Also, do you have the birth/death date for George Washington Nevils? He was Martha's brother. I have dates listed but I'm not sure they are correct. Would appreciate your help. I remember you saying you were working on restoring the stones in the small cemetery. Do you still have the photos, and could you send me copies by email? Pat O'Neal
