    3. I know that the Claiborne County Cemetery Association recently did a clean up of the Gray Cemetery. I think this is my family's cemetery. I was wondering if, when the cemetery was cleaned up, was there by chance a survey of the cemetery done and a list of those buried there compiled. Several of my Jennings ancestors, includiing my great grandmother Nervesta "Vesta" Jennings "Irwin" are listed as being buried in Gray Cemetery on their death certificates. I would like to see if this is indeed the same cemetery and find out who all is buried there. If anyone has this info, I would appreciate knowing it. Thanks Richard Holt

    1. Friends of the Claiborne County Genealogy Library ......
    2. Hi Folks, I've got a couple of announcements to make concerning the Genealogy section of the Library in Claiborne County. First off, Thanks to Joyce Watson (the new County Historian) and Mayor Virgil Herrell the Library has on Permanent loan from Walters State a brand new Microfilm reader. Somehow the lens had walked off (before we got it) but the Mayor is ordering a replacement. That should make life much easier for any of you trying to read through the rolls of Microfilm. And a giant step forward for the Library since I was told I'd have to raise approximately $7,000 to buy a new one. What a relief! Now we can concentrate our efforts on building up the Genealogy Collection available at the Library. Which leads me to the next announcement. Due to very generous donations made to the "Friends of the Genealogy Library" Fund, I just ordered the 3 Volume set of the Millennium Addition (DAR) Patriot Index for the Library. After speaking with (SAR) experts and (DAR) experts they recommended the DAR Patriot Index as the more comprehensive of the two. More excellent publications will be coming to the Library as we evaluate what's missing and fill in the blanks. If you know of any books or CD's you'd highly recommend that have been invaluable to you in your research please contact me and we'll take them into consideration. Any and all help appreciated. Warmest Regards, Pam ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Researching the following surnames: BREEDING, CRUTCHFIELD, CUPP, ELLISON, ENGLAND, FAULKNER/FORTNER/FORKNER, FIELDS, GOIN, GREER, HUBBS, HURST, JOHNSON, KECK, KILLION, OUSLEY/OWSLEY, ROARK, RUSSELL, SNAVELY, WAGGONER, WYRICK, and other assorted and connected families. 2. Kyle Simmons
    3. I'm still researching a old picture of a school in Claiborne Co. Tn in the Clouds area, called Summit Point. It burned down in 1926. I would like to hear about any history on this school, like when it was built. I have another school picture with my grandfather in it and the school looks the same and they lived in the same area as where my father attended school. I've been able to identiy 36 of the 52 kids in the picture through the help of others, mainly Rose Mae Widner Poore. I would like to identify the others. I have a list of possibilities based on them being sibblings, and the right age, of kids identified in the picture, or that I was told that they went to school with someone in the picture, or they lived in the adjancent houses to kids in the picture. If anyone knows anyone who might be able to identify any of these people as kids (6-12), I would like to hear from you. 1. Lonnie and Mary Dunnsmore 2. Davis, Lucy, Mary, and Bessie Simmons 3. If any of these people are still alive or if their is anyone who could identify them as children (6-12) please let me know. Everyone on the list is always very helpful. Thanks Kyle
