    1. Meaning of Indian name
    2. I just recently found out my family had roots in TN. I am speaking of Elias Harrison and the time frame being the late 1700's early 1800's. He had a younger brother whose name was Elisha Harrison. Elisha is my gggg-grandfather. He married an Indian whose name was Igha Soo-ko-tosh Baker Harrison. She was born they say in NC and that John 'Renta' Baker was either her father or her adopted father. I have even been told that John Renta Baker shot and killed her real father and then adopted her. Can anyone help me out with the meaning of her name? What is her background. 1. Salt Lake City update
    2. Hi Folks, Just a quick update.....there are about 30 folks from Monroe, Michigan scheduled to meet us in Salt Lake in June. Several from this list......which is great. Looking forward to meeting new faces and seeing some old ones too. lol The folks in Monroe are flying together via a package deal that's quite reasonable. So if any of you Michigan folks are thinking you'd like to come I'll find out through Bette if there are any seats left. Several others are considering making the trip from California, Nevada and Texas I believe. So let me hear from you if you're the least bit interested in joining us for some Family Research and a little fun on the side. Warmest Regards, Pam

    1. [TNCLAIBO-L] How do I find location of piece of property?
    2. Sheri Kelly
    3. Sharon, and list: I have had success with the city directories in my research in Hamblen Co., TN, specifically Morristown. I retrieved info from around 1900 as well as 1920 regarding where my families lived, street they were on, and occupation if any. Your message had several names which could be of value. Sharon Steele <[email protected]> wrote: List, My grandparents owned a farm in Claiborne, Co., TN from about 1925-1950. My mother talks about visiting during the summers as a teenager. As we are going on a trip and will be passing within about 50 miles of there, I want to take her by there to see it. I have some information on where it is located, but want to know how I might long-distance find a more specific location. What I know: When Robert "Sanford" JENKINS purchased it in the mid 1920's, it was called the 'old Dorsey Alexander' farm. It was 350 acres. About 18 miles from Middlesboro. Old Hiway 63 ran down by it. A new road was built sometime which split the farm. Sanford sold about 20 acres which included a house and tobacco farm to somebody-don't know date. Sold the rest of the farm to Bill Ellison (?) much later (about 1950). During the time Sanford had it, it was rented to Lloyd Hall for awhile. Also to Bennie Mae Wilder?? Maybe Bennie Mae was the daughter and Abigail Wilder was the mom? There were two houses on the property, so maybe they were both there at the same time. I'm from Kansas. Does any know how I could find court-house records which might help pin-point this property? This is a very active genealogy list. I appreciate being a part of it. 3. Cheryl, I do not have either of those names in my files. My Ridings actually came from Sevier Co., TN. Wm Ridings b ca 1798. John Ridings b 6/18/1837 d 4/8/1925 m (1) Rhoda Williams (2) Mary J. Miller McMahan John was a widower with 4 children, Mary was a widow with 4 children, and then they had 2 together. I come through one of those 2 together. John O. Ridings b 3/21/1873 d 4/18/1955 m Sarah Elizabeth (Lizzie) Shell b 1873 d 8/5/1942 Where are your Ridings from?
