Lockie Carney Simpkins of the Marrowbone area. :-) I'm looking at a "Descendants of John Baptiste Demonbreun" book and it lists a Joshua Carney married to a Judy Jane Demunbrun. Of course, this book dwells mainly with the Demonbreun side but here's the info I show under this listing. This book is difficult for me to follow: "Judy Jane was born about 1822 in Tennessee. She married Joshua Carney Oct 27, 1845 in Davidson County. He was born about 1816 in Tennessee. He died in 1885. THey had 10 children: Mary, about 1846 John S, about 1848 Joshua Thomas, July 1, 1850 d,June 29, 1928 JT, about 1851 Ennis B, about 1852 Joseph H, about 1854 Anis, about 1855 R F, about 1859 Hiram, about 1861 Marjrell D, about 1862 Information from Mildred Setters, 117 Imperial Point, Hendersonville, TN 37075 (12/92) The book says there is a problem in regards to the family. Joshua and Judy Jane were married Oct. 27, 1845. It says there are several children born before 1845. It could be assumed that there was a first wife, but the ages of some of the children are to close to that of Joshua's age of 31. These children are: Henry, age 15, born around 1835 Ely, age 15, born about 1835 Llavella, age 12, born about 1838 James, age 11, born about 1839 William, aage 9, born about 1841 Sinai, age 11, born about 1845 The book says they have made the assumption that the children born before 1845 and before are not hte children of Judy Jane and may not even be the children of Joshua. In addition we assume children born after 1846 to be those of Joshua and Judy Jane." _____________________ I'll have to look more closely at the book and see if I can figure out the lineage. There is no Elijah or Vincent, but then again, this is a book on Judy Jane's side of the family. Let me know if you think this is the family you are looking for. I'm sure others have researched the Carney side. I think my uncle on the Wayman side has,but from what I hear from my aunt, I may not want to approach him. :-) Good luck, Lori
