I saw a book today at my library called "Cheatham County, TN Wills and Inventories, Volume A, 1856-1871". There is an entry in the index for Shearron, Jesse, Dec. Inv. 389. It is not in the book - it did not go as far as an entry of 389 or a page 389. I'm wondering if anyone knows if there is another volume out there that would have the listing I'm looking for. Also, I am wondering if someone in Ashland City could go to the library there and scan and e-mail me page 174 from the book Pioneers of 'Possum Trot Tennessee by Mary Ann Harris von Verdo. A relative has the book, but page 174 is missing from hers. One more thing.....when were birth certificates first issued? I am at a dead end in searching for some folks, and I'm wondering if birth records could be found for them. Thanks, Christine Stafford
