    3. Lori, I looked and this is what I found: Elisha Gower - no Sally Ferguson - no Any Pattons - no Tabitha Gower - no Ephraim Simmons - no. But I have a Rachel Simmons who married Henry "Harry" Tuggle Lee in 1817, probably in Davidson Co., Tennessee. Henry Tuggle Lee's 2nd wife was Jane Sanders, whose brother Jacob Sanders m. Frankie Gower in 1821 and whose other brother Isaac Sanders m. Martha "Patsy" Gower in 1830, all in Davidson Co., Tennessee. Is your Susan Gower m. to Ephraim Simmons? What year and where, etc.? I have a Susan Elvira Gower, m. to Robert (or Richard) Allen Sanders in 1866 in Williamson Co., Illinois. Her parents are Larkin Gower and Rhapsody Grimes from Davidson County, Tennessee. His parents are William Carroll Sanders and Delaney Sanders (her maiden name). These two Sanderses are not connected (yet) to my main Sanders branches. I am really interested in your Carney line, since I have very little on this. Please let me know about this line back to William Carney. I would really like to know about this. I have an Edward Sanders, but probably not your. He married Hattie Johnson. No dates, but his father James Sanders was b. in 1860 in Williamson County, Illinois. No Brizendines in my info. No other connections that I can think of, but I do think the Simmons/Gower connection is interesting. Hope some of this helps - Jane john murphy wrote: > Jane, > I have two Gower connections in my direct line. Tabitha Gower b. 1829 > m.January 20, 1848 Davidson Co., TN to Albert Patton b. 1825 in TN. Well that was too close not to pursue. My AUSTINs, the direct line, are from Dickson county, but on the east side of the county near Burns . We both know that's just "spittin'-distance" from Cheatham county. Grandmother Susie Evelyn Austin, born 1901, daughter of Samuel Houston Austin, son of Houston Gaines Austin, son of Samuel Demetrius Austin of North Carolina. PINKERTON is an alternate spelling for my surname PILKERTON lived in Davidson county on the other side of Cheatham county. My grandfather William Ervin b. 1909, son of George Henry, son of Lewis Bradshaw, son of Aaron of Virginia. Pilkertons migrated into Tennessee from Kentucky after the Civil War. If any of these threads weave through your tapestry I'd love to spin a little yarn with you. Suzanne

The book covers Abel Gower, Jr.'s descendants for about 11 generations, and is documented as much as was humanly possible. I researched this for five years. I am descended from Lewis Garrett Gower and Mary "Polly Fowler. I could not find proof for my line., but believe Lewis is the son of Robert Gower, but it is possible he was the son of Elisha Gower. War soldier from Georgia. I have already put my Binkley lines on the list, but here are the otheres: I have several FELTS. One is James N. FE;TS, father of William Hargis Buck FELTS, b. about 1811 in Robertson Co., Tennessee, and m. Narcissa J. "Susan" SANDERS, b. 1832, dau. of Jacob SANDERS b. 1802 and Frankie GOWER b. about 1802, both in Robertson Co., Tenn.. Also Martin V. FELTS, who m. Rebecca F. LUCKEY, and whose dau Candace FELTS m. Tenn. As for CARNEY, I have my brick walls - brothers Washington, Jack and William (b. about 1815) KEARNEY/ KARNEY/ CARNEY, from the Bowling Green area of Kentucky (although William's children were born in Ky., then Tenn, then Ky. again, so one theory is that he straddled the state line!) Washington and William came to southern Illinois in the 1850's; Jack stayed in Kentucky. I would love more information about them or any hints as to where they came from.
