Jim: Thanks so much. I worked really hard on the book, but I don't have an abundance of self confidence, so that really makes me feel good. Mary
I have not heard a peep from anyone who has connections to the Bradley line in Cheatham County. This site has been really busy with everyone else posting. The home of JJ Bradley is on 49 west with the original house still standing. (They later used this for slave quarters) I am interested in learning more about my relatives. I have visited with Joel Bradley who still lives in Pleasant View. I am sure other relatives with information hidden are out there. Please contact me. I have information to share. To unsubscribe go to the Cheatham County website and where you subscribed you can also unsubscribe in the subject line.
The West Nashville book was available directly from the author at least as recently as two years ago when I bought it. I don't remember the cost but you can write to the author and find out. She is: Sarah Foster Kelley 567 Whispering Hills Drive Nashville, TN 37211
there are 2 books that Sara wrote an if they are still in print Im surprised . but you can find them at the library .Esther P.S. I have both ,
Jim: I think to unsubscribe you send to address: TNCHEATH-L-request@rootsweb.com Then I always put unsubscribe in the the subject line and the body of the letter. Mary
I think that's right Mary. I just talked to Sarah Kelley - she said you have done a wonderful job on your book - If she thinks it's so - then it is. She pointed out that I am akin to the Gowers on both the Allen and Jordan side. Rsp. Thanks, Jim. I had found this info at Salt Lake City in April when Jim and I toured the LDS Library there. Do you know if that book West Nashville, etc is still in print? I am considering buying a copy. Someone told me it was around $45 they thought. So, my James Lovell owned property in the Pond Creek area, and I am guessing he owned more than just the 50 acres he sold John M. Lovell, who I think was his brother. The 1811 time frame was about the time or a little after his first wife died. Have a good day, and thanks again, Sue Airhart Sent: Saturday, May 13, 2000 4:19 PM Subject: [TNCHEATH-L] James Lovell > Posted on: Cheatham Co. Nancy, Sorry, but I do not have the JOHNSON names that you mentioned. Robbie
I think you just put "unsubscribe" in the subject of a message to the list and/or in the body of the message....sans the quotation marks if that is what you mean when you say "remove our name from this area". Posted on: Cheatham Co. Tn Deeds Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tn/CheathamDeed?read=4 Surname: Lovell ------------------------- Since I have not been able to find a will for James Lovell, who d. 1847, I am checking for deeds to property he owned. This may be a long stretch, as Cheatham Co was Davidson Co in that time period. 1850 Davidson co census shows Patsy Lovell and several children with $600 worth of real property. Am I right in assuming that this was real estate, not personal property? Surely there are some deeds that can be traced back to this piece of land one way or the other. Thanks to anyone who can help.
