Sherrill, public services director of the Tennessee State Library and Archives, Nashville, will be guest speaker at the general meeting of the Tennessee Genealogical Society at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, 17 Jul 1999. Sherrill's topic will be "It's Only the Land That Matters, Katie Scarlett!" He will discuss the complicated records of Tennessee land grants, provide tips for finding land records, and demonstrate how deeds can be used to unearth important genealogical clues.
